The Cougar Softball Season came to an end last week as they lost to South Suburban in the Region 4 Quarterfinal game. The Cougars were the six seed while South Suburban was the three. The series was best 2 out of 3. The Cougars started the series well, winning game one, 7-6. Though, they were unable to pull out another win in the other two games due to defensive errors, losing 3-12 and 7-10.
Jordin Dickey and
Brianna Stager lead the Cougars at the plate both recording .500 batting averages. Dickey was 5 for 10 with 2 singles, 2 doubles, and a homerun while producing 7 of the cougars 16 runs. Stager was 4 for 8 tallying 4 hits, 2 walks, and driving in one run.
Becca Schwartz was a force to be reckened with on the mound pitching 14 innings and giving up only 5 earned runs.
The Cougars ended the year 29-23 overall, ending 2nd in Arrowhead Conference play with a 14-6 record. Check out the records that were broken this year below.
