FREEPORT, Ill. — The Highland Community College Men's Golf team has announced its schedule for the 2025 fall season, fresh off an appearance at the NJCAA National Tournament and a championship run through the 2024 Arrowhead Conference. With four of five starters returning from last year's decorated lineup, Head Coach Javier Jazo believes the Cougars are poised for another standout campaign.
"We've put together a very competitive schedule that features strong fields and quality golf courses," said Jazo. "This group has experience at the highest level, and this fall gives us great opportunities to test ourselves and prepare for another run in the spring."
The Cougars will open the season on their home turf with the 52nd Annual Highland 36, hosted at Park Hills Golf Course in Freeport, Illinois. As one of the longest-running JUCO tournaments in the country, the Highland 36 draws over 100 student-athletes annually and serves as the premier early-season showcase for top talent across the Midwest.
The Cougars will then hit the road for a full slate of events, including the Battle of the Mississippi, a unique head-to-head event pitting Illinois junior colleges against their Iowa counterparts in a spirited regional showdown.
The fall schedule also includes a return to the Arrowhead Conference Tournament, where Highland will aim to defend its 2024 title. With several All-Conference performers back in the lineup, the Cougars are expected to be contenders once again.
