Sophomore infielder Joel Peguero has committed to continue his academic and athletic career at Bellarmine University, an NCAA Division I institution located in Louisville, Kentucky.

A native of the Dominican Republic, Peguero has been a key contributor for the Cougars since arriving on campus. Known for his passion, energy, and leadership, he quickly became one of Highland's most consistent and exciting players to watch. As a freshman, Peguero posted an impressive offensive season  recording 25 extra-base hits and 37 RBI, while providing steady defense and emotional spark in the infield.

Beyond his performance on the diamond, Peguero has earned a reputation for his work ethic and character off the field. His commitment to excellence in the classroom and dedication to his teammates have made him a respected leader within the program and a model example of what it means to be a Highland Cougar.
