EAST MOLINE, Ill. — The Highland Community College men's golf team turned in a solid performance Friday at the Black Hawk Spring Invite, finishing third with a team score of 304 in a tournament shortened by severe weather in the Quad Cities.
Originally scheduled as a two-day, 36-hole event, the invite was reduced to just 18 holes after Thursday's round was canceled. The condensed format placed added emphasis on consistency, and the Cougars responded with a steady team effort.
Highland was led by Luis Duffy, Brock Brown, and Roman Johnson, who each carded rounds of 75 to earn top-10 finishes and pace the Cougars on the leaderboard.
The Cougars will return to action April 15–16 at the Deere Hawk Classic, beginning at Deer Valley Golf Course and concluding at TPC Deere Run, host of the PGA Tour's John Deere Classic.
