The Highland Cougars Men's Golf Team showcased both talent and depth at the Skyhawk Fall Invite, finishing in 3rd place in the team standings with rounds of 299-295 for a 594 total. Highland was led by Luis Duffy, who turned in a standout performance with rounds of 72-69 to finish at 2-under par (141), placing 3rd overall and just one stroke shy of joining a playoff for medalist honors.
Joining Duffy in the top 10 was A.J. Anderson, who fired rounds of 73-75 for a 148 total, good for 8th place in the field.
The Cougar "B" Team also made a strong impression, finishing in 5th place overall with rounds of 310-324 for a 634 total. Their finish ahead of several varsity squads highlighted the impressive depth across Highland's roster.
Highland Head Coach Javier Jazo reflected on the performance, noting the effort and optimism heading into the next event.
"We didn't bring our best stuff this week, but a lot of positives moving forward into the highly anticipated Battle of the Mississippi at Fyre Lake Golf Course in Sherrard, IL," Jazo said.
