Michael Broskowski

Michael Broskowski was named Highland Community College’s Director of Athletics and Physical Education on June 23, 2025 after previously serving as Associate Athletic Director and Sports Information Director at Arizona Western College for the last four years.
While at Arizona Western College, Broskowski played a key role in the department's fundraising efforts, playing an instrumental role in the partnership with Chapman Automotive Group and Yuma Regional Medical Center. Broskowski spearheaded the inception of the Matadors Kids Club presented by Yuma Regional Medical Center, gaining over 200 members in its first year. 
 
Broskowski led the department's community partnerships, organizing community appearances and volunteer opportunities with Special Olympics, Midnight at the Oasis, and other community events as well as camps for local schools, including the Fort Yuma Quechan Indian Tribe. Broskowski served the department's liaison for the Matador Athletic Association, the main fundraising arm of the Arizona Western College athletics. 
During Broskowski's time at Arizona Western College, seven Arizona Western athletic events were selected as ESPN+ NJCAA Game of the Week broadcasts, the most of any other NJCAA institution. Outside of his duties for Arizona Western, Broskowski served on both the NJCAA DI Men's Soccer Committee and the NJCAA DI Softball Committee, and is the chair of the ACCAC Communications Committee and co-chair of the ACCAC Baseball Committee. 
 
Prior to his time in Yuma, Broskowski spent two years at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyo., where led led the move to online ticketing through Hometown Ticketing, moving away from cash during the COVID-19 pandemic, a move that helped allow Laramie County Community College to be one of the only schools in Region IX to have spectators during the 2020-21 athletic season. Michael served on the planning committee for the annual Shawn Dubie Memorial Rodeo held at Cheyenne Frontier Park, one of the largest college rodeos in the country, held at the largest rodeo stadium in North America. 
 
Before joining LCCC, Broskowski spent six years broadcasting professional baseball and junior college athletics. The Jefferson, Wis. native was the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Clinton LumberKings, the Single-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins, in Clinton, Iowa. While in Clinton, Broskowski was in charge of producing content for the team's website as well as the team's social media accounts and coordinating interviews with the local media as well as serving as the play-by-play voice. Before Clinton, Michael spent two seasons working in the same capacity with the Orem Owlz in Orem, Utah, the Advanced Rookie Affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, and four seasons with the Burlington Bees in Burlington, Iowa, the Single-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. 
 
Michael first started working in junior college athletics, broadcasting basketball and baseball for Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa, for six years. While broadcasting games at Southeastern, Broskowski worked on campus as a security guard and volunteered time with the athletic department, helping run live streams for sporting events. 
 
Broskowski attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, before graduating from Western Illinois University with a degree in broadcast journalism in 2013, and earned his Master's in Sports Administration from Arkansas State University in 2022

Michael resides in Freeport and will be joined by his wife TaLeasa and children Eugene, Dawaun, and Dashuan later in the year
