SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — The Highland Community College men's golf team continued its strong start to the fall season by capturing the Wolfpack Challenge championship at Prairie Pines Golf Club, while sophomore AJ Anderson made program history on his way to individual medalist honors.
Highland posted rounds of 280 and 289 on the par-71 layout to finish with a 36-hole total of 569 (+1) and claim the team championship. The victory marks the Cougars' second team tournament title of the season.
Anderson provided the highlight of the tournament with a record-setting opening round. He fired a 6-under-par 65, establishing a new Highland Men's Golf program record for the lowest 18-hole tournament score in school history. Anderson followed with an even-par 71 in the second round to finish at 136 (-6) and capture medalist honors.
The victory was Anderson's second individual medalist honor of the season, and he now leads the NJCAA in tournament medalist victories this season.
Highland dominated the top of the individual leaderboard, taking each of the top three positions. Austin Dobbe recorded rounds of 71 and 72 to finish at 143 (+1) and tied for second. Jonathan Huenink joined him at 143 after rounds of 72 and 71, also finishing tied for second.
Jack Maharaj turned in rounds of 76 and 72 for a 148 (+6) total and an eighth-place finish. Jake Maloret posted back-to-back rounds of 75 to finish at 150 (+8) and tied for ninth.
Griffin Blanch opened with a 72 before finishing with an 83 for a 155 (+13) total and a tie for 21st. Kaden Brown rounded out Highland's competitors with rounds of 76 and 82 for a 158 (+16) total and a 25th-place finish.

The Wolfpack Challenge title continues an impressive opening stretch for the Cougars, who have now earned two team championships this season, while Anderson has matched that total with two individual tournament victories.
Highland will remain in Wisconsin to continue its weekend on Sunday, September 13, when the Cougars compete at Washington County Golf Course. The tournament is scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. start.
